Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about SigGen email signature generator
Is SigGen free to use?
Yes, SigGen is completely free. You can create professional email signatures with all our templates without any payment or registration required.
Do I need to create an account?
No, you don't need to create an account or sign up. Simply design your signature and copy or download the HTML code. Your signature data is stored locally in your browser.
Which email clients are supported?
SigGen creates HTML signatures that work with all major email clients including Gmail, Outlook (desktop and web), Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Yahoo Mail, and most other email applications that support HTML signatures.
How do I add my signature to Gmail?
Copy your signature to clipboard, go to Gmail Settings > See all settings > General > Signature. Create a new signature, paste the copied content, and save. See our detailed Gmail Guide for step-by-step instructions.
How do I add my signature to Outlook?
The process varies between Outlook versions. For Outlook web, go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Compose and reply. For desktop Outlook, go to File > Options > Mail > Signatures. See our Outlook Guide for detailed instructions.
Can I add my photo or company logo?
Yes! You can add both a profile photo and a company logo to your signature. Simply paste the image URL in the respective fields. For best results, host your images on a reliable image hosting service or your company's server.
What image format should I use for photos and logos?
We recommend using PNG or JPG images. For logos, PNG with transparent background works best. Keep image file sizes small (under 100KB) to ensure fast email loading. Recommended dimensions are 80-150px for photos and 100-200px for logos.
Why is my image not showing in the signature?
Images must be hosted online and accessible via a public URL (starting with https://). Local file paths won't work in email signatures. Make sure your image URL is correct and the hosting service allows hotlinking.
Can I add social media icons?
Yes! SigGen includes icons for LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, GitHub, and YouTube. Simply enter your profile URLs, and the icons will be automatically added to your signature.
How do I customize the colors?
In the Style tab, you can customize the primary color (used for names and links) and secondary elements. Click on the color picker or enter a hex color code. The preview updates in real-time as you make changes.
What templates are available?
SigGen offers 15 professional templates: Minimalist, Classic, Modern, Corporate, Creative, Sales, Startup, Executive, Tech, Marketing, Real Estate, Healthcare, Legal, Education, and Freelancer. Each template is designed for different styles and industries. Preview each to find your perfect fit.
Can I download my signature as a file?
Yes! Click "Download HTML" to save your signature as an HTML file. This is useful for backup purposes or for email clients that support importing HTML signatures directly.
Will my signature look the same in all email clients?
We design our signatures to be as consistent as possible across email clients. However, some email clients may render HTML slightly differently. Our templates use safe, widely-supported HTML and CSS to minimize these variations.
Are my data secure?
Absolutely. All signature creation happens entirely in your browser. Your personal information is never uploaded to any server. Data is stored locally in your browser and you can clear it anytime.
Can I create multiple signatures?
Currently, SigGen stores one signature at a time in your browser. To create multiple signatures, you can download each one as an HTML file or copy them to a document for safekeeping before creating a new one.
My signature looks different after pasting. What should I do?
Make sure to use "Paste" (Ctrl+V) or "Paste and Match Style" in your email client's signature editor. Some email clients strip formatting when pasting. If issues persist, try the HTML file download method.
